Hello. Car-spotting, series 5 continues the trend – super awesome cars with great backstories. There’s a flame-spitting Senna, F50 and a really cool 1-of-1 Chiron.
Name – Lamborghini Huracan STO
Location – Cartel Theatre, Calgary
Backstory – This is the most track-focused yet still road legal variant of the Huracan supercar. This particular one was one of the first customer units delivered in Canada. Pictured here at a car meet in Calgary.
Name – Ferrari F50
Location – Cardel Theatre, Calgary
Backstory – An F50 sighting is very rare and quite a special experience. This may just be the only one in Calgary, Canada. Thankfully, the owner doesn’t shy away from taking it out for the occasional cruise.
Name – McLaren Senna
Location – Dubai autodrome, Dubai
Backstory – The McLaren Senna in its natural element. This was at the Dubai Autodrome. The hypercar arrived on a trailer but was quickly unshackled and let loose for some track shakedown.
Name – Ferrari Enzo
Location – SBH Royal Auto Gallery, Abu Dhabi
Backstory – Named after the company’s founder himself. This is 1 of 400 produced, now a part of the incredible private collection at the SBH Royal Auto Gallery.
Name – Ferrari 458 Speciale
Location – Cardel Theatre, Calgary
Backstory – The 458 Speciale is such a special car; the last naturally aspirated V8 supercar from Ferrari. This one is even more unique because it is finished in a non-traditional colour.
Name – Bugatti Chiron
Location – Al Quoz, Dubai
Backstory – Even the stock Chiron is special enough but this is a 1-of-1 Bugatti Chiron Vainqueur de Coeur edition. I was fortunate enough to spot it out and about during one of my car spotting rounds in Dubai.
Name – McLaren 765LT
Location – Downtown, Calgary
Backstory – Arguably one of the coolest cars I’ve spotted in Calgary. The owner had just taken delivery and invited a couple of gearheads for a quick photoshoot. The 765LT is without question, one of the best supercars on the market today.
Name – Bentley Continental GT3-R
Location – Dubai
Backstory – This is a limited series Bentley Continental GT3-R. It was first introduced in 2014 and only 300 units were ever made, making any public sighting a very special one indeed. I spotted this one at a car meet organized to celebrate the national day of the United Arab Emirates. I also found it parked up in a mall a few months later.
Name – Lykan Hypersport
Location – City Walk, Dubai
Backstory – Lykan Hypersport is an ultra-exclusive hypercar made by W Motors, a middle-eastern automobile company. The production run is limited to 7 units. However, we are not sure if that includes the wrecked one in this image, arguably the most famous Lykan Hypersport. It is the exact one that was featured in the 7th installment of the popular Fast & Furious franchise. If you have watched the movie, you may remember the scene where the car jumps from one skyscraper to the next.
Name – 1-of-1 Lamborghini Aventador
Location – Abu Dhabi
Backstory – This custom Oakley Design Aventador was part of a supercar convoy that set out from Abu Dhabi to several other Middle Eastern cities. I heard about the event from a friend. However, I did not have a car at the time but that did not stop me. I took public transport from Dubai to Abu Dhabi just to be at the starting point when the cars took off. I was not disappointed. One of the standout cars was definitely the Aventador with its striking green colour scheme (both inside and outside). I had a chat with the owner; real friendly dude.
